Some people find it helpful to have an estimate of their benefits from the Department of Retirement Systems.  You can get this by going to the DRS website, the link to the website is to the right under “blog rolls”, go to the Quick Links on the right-hand side of the page, and click on Benefit Estimators.

In addition, everyone can get a copy of their Social Security statement on that website.  Go to www.ss.gov, look at the Top Services on the left-hand side of the page, and click on Get Your Social Security statement online.

Riverside WEA should be hosting another retirement seminar on April 12th and 13th. If you would like information sooner than later and are looking to retire this year, I recommend attending this seminar. If you cannot attend this seminar, contact Sandy Kokko skokko@pacifier.com. There is a chance that other districts will decide to host their own seminar as well.
