Our local WEA-affiliated unions in Southwest Washington are hosting a conference on Diversity and Social Justice – A Focus on Poverty. The conference will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Union High School. In support of this focus, your union leaders are partnering with the Clark County Food Bank, and are requesting conference attendees bring canned food, toiletries, or a cash donation. The food bank plays an instrumental role in putting food on our students tables during these continued challenging economic times for families.
Your WEA-Riverside UniServ is encouraging us to participate in this important community outreach. High protein items (tuna and peanut butter), canned fruits and vegetables, non-perishables (macaroni and cheese, beans, rice and pasta, toilet paper, sanitary supplies, or cash are all much needed items.
Please talk to your building rep about how you would like to participate in this event.
Thank you!
