As your local president, I am recommending you as a participant for SPARKS.
SPARKS is an experience for teachers newer to the profession, to provide support and build connections with other young professionals. The SPARKS experience will be March 15, 16, 17, 2018 at the Breakers Resort in Long Beach, WA. This will be a fabulous (and fun!) opportunity to gather with 24 of your peers throughout the broader metro Vancouver area. And, the best part, this experience is at no cost for you – – we will provide release time, lodging, scrumptious food, and shared mileage expenses! The agenda for the experience is built off of what you and fellow attendees indicate you are most interested in learning more about! We are attempting to secure six (6) free clock hours through your Washington Education Association!
Your SPARKS experience begins when you arrive at the beach for a scrumptious dinner on Thursday, March 15 and will conclude by noon on Saturday, March 17, 2018. (You leave school right after work on Thursday, March 15 and drive to the beach and a substitute is paid for your release on Friday, March 16)

Attached are several electronic documents you will need to complete. In order to reserve your spot you will need to mail or deliver a $50 good-faith, refundable deposit check to WEA-Riverside, 5516 NE 107th Avenue, Suite 200, Vancouver, WA 98662. (We collect a good-faith check to save your spot, and confirm your commitment to attend. Your check will be returned upon attendance)

The deadline on the materials indicated a deadline of Friday, December 8, 2017 for submission. We very much would like to have your registration and materials prior to winter break. You can appreciate there are a lot of logistics in planning FUN for taking 24+ teachers to the beach! Also, we need to leave ample time for you to secure a substitute.
